Statement from President of PMC regarding Prop 8 Decision
May 26, 2009 To the LGBT Community, Today is a sad day in the LGBT community. The California Supreme court decided to uphold Proposition 8, which was passed by 52% of those that voted. The California Supreme court ruled that the majority still have the right to decide how to change the constitution. We must remain vigilant in our fight for civil rights for all, to come together as a community and continue our fight with dignity, education and purpose. Fundraiser Fiesta!
PMC is hosting a fundraiser event at Chevy's in Salinas on Wednesday, April 1st. Come out and eat some great food while supporting your LGBT community. Chevy's will donate 15% back to Pride of Monterey County. You can come anytime from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and just present the Chevy's flyer below! Tell your friends!
